However, as the political landscape evolved, so did Chaitanya’s conviction that true public service must remain uncompromisingly aligned with the interests of the people. Disillusioned by a growing disconnect between governance and grassroots priorities within the ruling party, he made the bold and principled decision to forgo his MLA-ship.
In 2024, reaffirming his commitment to development-oriented, nationalist values, he aligned himself with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi - a move driven by shared ideals of good governance, youth-led transformation, and nation-first thinking.​
Chaitanya Sharma is a dynamic and forward-looking political leader who served as the elected Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Gagret constituency in Himachal Pradesh, where he scripted history in the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections by winning with the highest victory margin in the entire state — a powerful testament to his deep connection with the people and unwavering grassroots engagement.

With strong roots in Himachal Pradesh, Chaitanya’s journey spans continents. He pursued higher education in the United States, where he developed a global perspective on governance, development, and institutional reform. He later worked at the World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C., gaining invaluable insights into global public policy frameworks. Returning to India with a renewed sense of purpose, he earned his law degree from the prestigious Campus Law Centre (CLC), University of Delhi, grounding his leadership in constitutional values, legal rigor, and democratic accountability.
